DebtMate Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of DebtMate.

By creating an account or using DebtMate, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under applicable law.

2. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

You are responsible for all activities conducted through your account.

You must notify Kodrilla promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

3. Purpose of the Application

DebtMate is a personal expense-sharing and debt-tracking application.

DebtMate does not:

  • Process payments
  • Hold user funds
  • Act as a bank or financial institution
  • Provide financial advice
  • Provide legal advice
  • Guarantee debt recovery
  • Verify that user-entered expenses or balances are correct

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Respect other users
  • Use the application lawfully
  • Keep your account secure
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Review shared expenses and balances before relying on them

5. Shared Expenses

Users are solely responsible for the expenses, payments, settlements, and other information they record.

DebtMate calculates balances based on information entered by users.

Kodrilla is not responsible for disputes regarding the accuracy, ownership, validity, or repayment of entered expenses.

6. Reminders

DebtMate may send reminders based on your settings.

Delivery of notifications is not guaranteed because it may be affected by device settings, network connectivity, notification permissions, battery optimization, or operating-system limitations.

Users remain responsible for managing their own financial obligations.

7. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Misuse the application
  • Upload malicious or unlawful content
  • Attempt unauthorized access
  • Interfere with the application’s operation
  • Harass or abuse other users
  • Use automated tools to abuse the service
  • Circumvent security or access controls
  • Violate applicable laws or the rights of others

8. Intellectual Property

All application content, branding, software, interfaces, and design remain the property of Kodrilla or its licensors.

Users may not copy, modify, reproduce, sell, license, or distribute the application or its protected materials without permission.

9. Third-Party Services

DebtMate uses third-party services, including Google Firebase, Google Sign-In, analytics services, crash-reporting services, notification infrastructure, and advertising providers.

Use of these services may also be subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

Kodrilla is not responsible for third-party services beyond the extent required by applicable law.

10. Advertisements

DebtMate may display rewarded advertisements.

Watching rewarded advertisements is voluntary unless clearly presented as a requirement for an optional in-app reward or feature.

Basic application functionality will not be represented as conditional on an advertisement unless that limitation is clearly disclosed.

11. Availability

We strive to keep DebtMate available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Maintenance, outages, third-party service failures, or technical issues may temporarily affect availability.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kodrilla shall not be liable for:

  • Financial losses
  • Missed reminders
  • User-entered data inaccuracies
  • Disputes between users
  • Loss of data caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control
  • Business interruption
  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Disclaimer

DebtMate is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, except where warranties cannot be excluded by law.

We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, legality, or reliability of user-generated financial records.

14. Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create security risks, abuse the service, or violate applicable laws.

Users may delete their accounts at any time through the application settings.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms periodically.

Material changes may be communicated through the application, this website, or other appropriate channels.

Continued use of DebtMate after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Kodrilla’s operations, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections available under the laws of the user’s location.
